Guide · Split a PDF

How do I split a PDF into separate documents online with Sealique?

Open the PDF, preview its pages in the browser, choose one document per page or tap the pages that belong together, and each part becomes its own document.

A scanned bundle, a report with annexes, a contract that holds several schedules: any unsigned PDF with two or more pages can be cut into smaller documents from a phone or a computer. Pages are shown as thumbnails, so you decide by looking at them rather than guessing page numbers, and the original file stays untouched.

Split a PDF, step by step

  1. Open Split a PDF and choose a file

Sign in (no card is needed to create an account), open Split a PDF and upload a file or pick one from your library. The tool opens it with every page shown as a thumbnail.

  2. Preview the pages

Thumbnails of every page are rendered in the browser, so you can see what is on each one before you decide where to cut.

  3. Choose how to split

Choose a mode: Every page (one document per page), Every N pages (equal chunks), Pick the pages (tap the ones that belong together) or Type the ranges (such as 1-3, 4, 5-8).

  4. Group the pages that belong together

In Pick the pages mode, tap the pages that belong to the highlighted part, press + New part for the next document and tap its pages. Pages you leave out are not included in any document.

  5. Press Split now

The result list shows how many documents you will get. Press Split now: the split runs on the server inside your private storage, and the original stays untouched.

  6. Use the parts

Each part appears in your library as its own document, linked to the source. Open it to view, download, edit, sign or merge it with other PDFs.

Split a PDF is included with a Sealique account; the processing happens in your browser and on our servers, nothing is shared with third parties.

Questions people ask

Does splitting a PDF with Sealique cost anything?

No. Splitting is included with an account, no card needed; signing in is required so the parts can be stored in your private library.

Sign-in is needed because every part is saved as a document you own, where it can be signed or merged later.

Where does my PDF go when I split it?

Thumbnails are rendered in the browser; the split runs on the server inside your private storage, and every part is created in your private library, visible only to you.

Nothing is shared with other users or made public. The parts are linked to the source document in your library and stay private until you choose to share or sign them.

Can I split a PDF on my phone?

Yes. Open the tool in your phone's browser, tap the thumbnails that belong together and press Split now; the parts are produced in seconds.

Sealique also installs as an app on Android and iOS from the browser menu, so it opens like any other app.

Can I extract only a few pages instead of splitting the whole file?

Yes. Choose Pick the pages and tap only the pages you want: pages you leave out are not included in any part.

You can also type ranges such as 1-3, 4, 5-8 to get one document per range. The original PDF is never changed.

Is there a file size limit for splitting?

A PDF can be up to 50 MB, and one split can produce up to 60 documents. PDFs that already carry a digital signature are refused.

Each page is rendered as a thumbnail in the browser, so very long files take a little longer to show. A signed document must stay exactly as it was signed, so split it before signing, or sign each part afterwards.

Can I sign or merge the parts afterwards?

Yes. Each part is a normal document in your library: open it to apply a PAdES digital signature or merge it with other PDFs.

Parts stay linked to the source document while it is in your library, so you can see which file they came from.
