How do I rotate, crop, split, merge and finish one PDF in one place?

Open the PDF workspace in Sealique: every page-level tool works on the same document in your browser, you preview the result, then save once; nothing is uploaded twice.

Running tools one after another used to mean saving a copy after each step. The workspace keeps the document open while you rotate, crop, reorder, add pages from other PDFs, number, watermark, redact, compress or protect it, shows the result before anything is written, and saves once.

Key facts

  • The Sealique workspace applies rotate, crop, arrange, split, merge, page numbers, watermark, redaction, compression and protection to one document without creating copies in between.
  • Rotation, cropping, page order and merged pages are previewed in your browser at once; the finishing steps are previewed from the server before you save.
  • Pages can be selected one by one, by range, odd or even, and the crop box is adjusted from its edges and corners with the keyboard or the mouse.
  • A page may belong to several parts of a split; each part becomes its own document and the parts can be moved to a folder together.
  • The result is saved once as a new document (or several parts) linked to the original, which stays untouched and can be signed afterwards.

How does the pipeline work?

The workspace keeps a description of the result rather than intermediate files: the arrangement of pages (which page of which document, its rotation and crop) plus the finishing steps. Your browser renders the arrangement with pdf.js, so rotating, cropping, reordering and merging show instantly; the server applies the finishing steps (OCR, page numbers, watermark, redaction, compression, protection) in a fixed order when you preview or save.

Because nothing is written until you save, you can undo any step, change the order of tools and try several crops without cluttering your library. Saving produces one new document, or one document per split part, linked to the original.

Which tools are chained, and in what order?

Page-level tools (rotate, crop, arrange, merge) shape the pages first. Then the finishing steps run in this order: flatten forms, OCR, page numbers, watermark, redaction, compression, protection. Redaction rasterises its pages, so anything placed after it on those pages is drawn on an image; protection makes the file a download rather than a document, so it cannot be combined with a split.

A PAdES digital signature seals the file as it is, so sign after the workspace, not before: the result lands in your library ready for Quick Sign or an invitation to sign.

PDF workspace, step by step

  1. Open the workspace

Sign in, open PDF tools and choose PDF workspace, or press “Open in the workspace” on any page tool. Drop a PDF or pick one of your unsigned documents.

  2. Pick the first tool

The left rail lists the tools; the one you came from is active and the workspace suggests what people usually do next, with a reason.

  3. Work on the pages

Rotate with the page buttons or R, draw and adjust a crop box, drag pages into order, build split parts, add documents to merge, set numbers or a watermark and watch the pages update.

  4. Preview and save

Press Preview to see the finished file (sizes before and after when compressing), then Save: name it, choose a folder and get the new document or parts.

PDF workspace is included with a Sealique account; the processing happens in your browser and on our servers, nothing is shared with third parties.

Questions people ask

Does each tool create a new document?

No. Every tool edits the same pending result in your browser; one document, or one per split part, is created when you save.

Can a page be in two split parts?

Yes. Add a page to several parts; each part gets its own copy of that page.

Can I preview before saving?

Yes. Rotation, crop, order and merged pages show at once; Preview renders the server result for numbers, watermarks, redaction, compression and OCR.

What about editing text?

Text editing lives in the PDF editor. The workspace saves a copy and opens it there, and the editor can send a document back to the workspace.

Can I work on a signed PDF?

No. A PDF that carries a digital signature must stay exactly as signed; finish the pages first, then sign the result.
