How do I build a dashboard from my data tables and share it without sending files?
Build a dashboard in the browser from one or several Sealique data tables: KPI cards, charts, pivots and summary tables, shared by link or by role.
Numbers that live in a spreadsheet are copied into slides, e-mailed and outdated the next day. A Sealique dashboard sits on top of the live data tables: pick a table, choose what to show in plain words ("Sum of Amount by Province as a bar chart"), place the cards where you want them, add filters, read the automatic interpretation, and share one link instead of a file.

Key facts
- A dashboard holds KPI cards, charts, pivot tables, summary tables and text on tabs, laid out by drag and drop on a 12-column grid.
- Widgets read live rows from the data tables; viewers and public visitors see the numbers exactly as the dashboard owner sees them.
- Dashboard filters (choice, date range, text, number range) apply to every widget bound to them, across several tables at once.
- A dashboard is shared with people as viewer, editor or manager, inside a project, or through a public link that needs no account.
- Exports produce a PDF with header, footer, page numbers and date, or a PowerPoint deck with one editable slide per widget.
Who sees what on a shared dashboard?
Widget queries always run with the access of the dashboard owner. A viewer, a project member or a visitor of the public link sees exactly the numbers the owner sees, even when they cannot open the tables themselves. If the owner loses access to a table, its widgets show "table unavailable" instead of data.
Roles are per dashboard: a viewer uses the filters and exports; an editor also changes the layout, widgets, filters and settings; a manager also shares, publishes, moves the dashboard between projects and deletes it. The owner is always a manager.
A project gives its members one role on every table and dashboard inside it: viewers and contributors become dashboard viewers, editors become editors, managers become managers. A direct share and the project role combine to the higher one.
How do dashboards combine several tables?
Each widget reads one table, and a dashboard can hold widgets from as many tables as you have access to, including tables shared with you and tables of your projects, without copying any rows.
A column linked to another table (a lookup) lets a widget reach one step into that table: group sales by the customer's region, filter orders by the supplier's country, or sum a linked value. Values are joined when the widget runs, so the dashboard follows every change in either table.
Dashboard filters tie the tables together: one filter can bind to a Province column in one table and a Region column in another, and a single choice narrows both.
What do the exports contain?
The PDF starts with the dashboard name, description, date and the active filters, then lists each tab with its widgets in reading order: KPI cards as large numbers with their change, charts as images, tables and pivots as real tables that continue on the next page with the header repeated, text blocks as paragraphs. Your header and footer, the page number and the date appear on every page.
The PowerPoint deck has a title slide and one slide per widget, or two side by side. Charts are pictures, KPI cards large numbers, tables native PowerPoint tables of up to 25 rows per slide, text blocks text boxes. Slide titles, notes, order and the selection are yours to change before the download, and the file stays editable in PowerPoint.
Data dashboards, step by step
Start from a table
Open Dashboards, choose New dashboard and pick a table to start from: a sensible first layout is suggested with a row count, the total of the first number column, a chart per month, a chart by the first category and a summary table.
Add and arrange widgets
Add a KPI, chart, pivot, table or text block. Describe what to show in plain words, preview it live, then drag the card to its place and resize it. Put related widgets on separate tabs.
Add filters
Add a dashboard filter such as Province or Date. Bind it to the matching column of each table used on the dashboard; viewers pick a value once and every widget follows.
Interpret a widget
Choose Interpret on a card to get a short reading of the numbers: the total, the top three groups and their share, the lowest group, the trend between the first and the last period. Edit the text and keep it as a note.
Share it
Invite people by e-mail as viewer, editor or manager, add the dashboard to a project so every member sees it, or switch on the public link for people without an account. Everyone sees the numbers as you see them.
Export it
Download a PDF with your header, footer, page numbers and date, or a PowerPoint deck: tick the widgets to include, rename slides, add speaker notes and reorder them before downloading.
Data dashboards is included with a Sealique account; the processing happens in your browser and on our servers, nothing is shared with third parties.
What Data dashboards includes
- KPI cards with a comparison to the previous day, week, month, quarter or year, a goal bar and a tooltip that explains the number
- Bar, line, area, pie and doughnut charts with one or two groupings, date buckets and up to four metrics
- Pivot tables with two row levels, a column field, up to three metrics, subtotals, column totals and percent of row, column or total
- Summary tables (group and aggregate) and row tables with a totals line
- Combine related tables: a linked column reaches into the other table, so sales can be grouped by the customer's region without copying data
- Dashboard-level filters bound to columns of several tables, with options taken from the data
- Interpret: a plain-language reading of any widget (totals, top groups, trend, share of the total) inserted as an editable text block
- Tabs, drag-and-drop layout, undo and redo, autosave with conflict detection
- Sharing by e-mail with viewer, editor and manager roles, project membership and public links
- Full-page presentation mode, PDF export with header and footer, PowerPoint export with a slide list you can edit before downloading
- Projects that group tables and dashboards and give members one role on all of them
Questions people ask
Can I share a dashboard with someone who has no account?
Yes. Switch on the public link: anyone who opens it sees the dashboard, with filters and PDF export, and no sign-in is required.
Switch the link off or regenerate it at any time; the in-app link keeps working for people with a role.
Do viewers see all the data or only what they may access?
Viewers and public visitors see the numbers as the owner sees them, because every widget runs with the owner's access to the tables.
They never see the raw rows of a table they cannot open, only the aggregated widgets of the dashboard.
Can one dashboard use tables from different projects?
Yes. A dashboard can read any table you own, any table shared with you and the tables of every project you belong to, without copying rows.
Linked columns reach one step into another table, so related tables combine without an export.
Can I edit the PowerPoint before downloading it?
Yes. Choose which widgets become slides, rename the slides, write speaker notes, reorder them and preview each one before the download.
The deck is a regular PowerPoint file, so the slides stay editable afterwards.
Is the interpretation generated by an AI service?
No. Interpret builds sentences from the widget's own numbers with fixed templates: totals, top groups, shares, trend and goal progress; nothing leaves the platform.
The text is inserted as an editable note, so you can correct or extend it.
